Self-Tuning Controller (STC) is an important modern control technology, its working principle and characteristics are as follows:
1. Working principle
Self-tuning control (STC) is an advanced control method which can realize on-line parameter identification and dynamically adjust control strategy during system operation. STC is essentially a closed-loop control strategy, and its core feature is to realize "real-time identification" and "on-line adjustment".
The STC system can be regarded as composed of two control loops: the inner loop constitutes the negative feedback control loop, and the outer loop constitutes the control parameter adjustment loop. The self-tuning controller consists of three basic parts: parameter estimator, parameter corrector and controller. The parameter estimator uses recursive least square method to estimate the model parameters of the controlled object online. The parameter correction section calculates the controller parameters according to the estimated parameters. The controller controls according to the new control parameters after correction.
The operation process of the self-correcting control system is that the self-correcting controller continuously samples, estimates, corrects and controls until the system reaches and maintains the desired control performance index.
2. Features
online parameter identification and adjustment:
STC can monitor system input and output relationship in real time and update system model parameters dynamically during system operation.
According to the identified parameters, STC can automatically adjust the controller parameters to adapt to the system changes.
Strong adaptability:
Because of its ability to adapt to changes in the system in real time, STC performs particularly well in nonlinear, uncertain and dynamic environments.
It is especially suitable for dynamic systems with unknown or time-varying parameters.
Closed loop control:
STC is a closed-loop control strategy, which realizes the stability control of the system through the negative feedback control loop of the inner loop and the control parameter adjustment loop of the outer loop.
Optimized control performance:
Through on-line parameter identification and adjustment, STC can maintain the optimal performance of the system.
It has a wide application prospect in industrial automation, flight control and other fields.
Flexibility and scalability:
STC algorithm can be adjusted and optimized according to specific application scenarios.
It can be combined with other advanced technologies, such as machine vision, torque control, etc., to achieve more advanced applications.
Self-tuning controller (STC) plays an important role in modern control system due to its characteristics of on-line parameter identification and adjustment, strong adaptability, closed-loop control, optimized control performance, flexibility and expansibility.
