The basic methods and steps of Yaskawa inverter debugging
Date:2025-03-13        Hits:2        Back

The commissioning of Yaskawa inverter is a process involving multiple steps and parameter setting, the following is a summary of the basic methods and steps:

1. Connect and check

Connect the frequency converter: Ensure that the connection between the frequency converter and the motor is correct, including the connection of the cable and the robustness of the wiring.

Check motor steering: After the initial connection, the steering of the motor should be checked to ensure that it is consistent with the expected direction of operation.

2. Set parameters

Set the running mode:

Enter the "Setting" menu of the inverter and select "Running Mode".

Select Automatic Speed Adjustment or Manual Speed adjustment as required. If you want the motor to automatically adjust the speed according to the load, select the "automatic speed regulation" mode.

Set motor parameters:

In the Settings menu, select the Motor Parameters option.

Input the rated power, voltage, current and other parameters of the motor, and select "Save". These parameters are essential for the normal operation of the inverter.

Set PID parameters (if applicable) :

If Automatic Speed Control is selected, you need to set PID parameters.

Go to the "Settings" menu and select the "PID Parameters" option.

Input parameters such as proportional coefficient, integral time and differential time. These parameters will affect the speed regulation accuracy and stationarity of the motor.

Set control mode:

According to the actual demand, choose the appropriate control mode.

Go to the "Settings" menu and select the "Control Mode" option.

Common control methods include open loop control and closed loop control. Open loop control is suitable for simple application scenarios, while closed loop control is suitable for more complex scenarios.

3. Debugging and monitoring

Debugging parameters:

After setting parameters, you need to debug the system to ensure that it works properly.

Each parameter can be checked one by one and fine-tuned according to the actual operation.

Monitor motor working status:

The inverter has the function of monitoring the working state of the motor.

You can view the speed and current of the motor by pressing the button on the operation panel, for example, the MON key.

If an exception occurs, stop the machine in time and check the cause.

Test failure protection mechanism:

During commissioning, the fault protection mechanism of the inverter should be tested.

Simulate the fault situation to see if the inverter can stop the motor in time and protect the equipment.

4. Troubleshoot common faults

View the fault code:

If the frequency converter fails, you can view the fault code by pressing a key on the operation panel (such as the MON key).

According to the fault code table, you can determine the fault type.

Fault reset:

After the fault is rectified, you can RESET the fault by pressing the Reset button.

This helps to restore the normal working state of the inverter.

5. Precautions

Follow the Operating manual: When operating Yaskawa drives, be sure to follow the steps and guidelines in the operating manual.

Ensure safety: When debugging or troubleshooting, the motor should be stopped first and the power supply should be disconnected to ensure safety.
